Course Information for Students

The programme is designed for anyone starting work in a care home environment who needs to achieve a qualification.

You need GCSEs graded 3.

You should be working in a care home environment – but we can help you to secure a role.

Your assessor will support you and explain the different unit options. They could include topics such as: 

  • Safeguarding
  • Wellbeing of the clients
  • How to work professionally and how to remain a competent carer
  • Dignity and respect
  • Equality and diversity
  • Medication
  • Maths and English Level 2

 

 

You will receive 1-1 support from your assessor and your practical learning will be within the working environment. 

You need a laptop.

  • End Point Assessment

You could progress to a Level 3 programme.

The course is free for apprentices but your employer will pay 5% of the funding to the College. 

Course Information for Employers

The Level 2 Adult Care apprenticeship entails units such as: 

  • Safeguarding
  • Wellbeing of the clients
  • How to work professionally and how to remain a competent carer
  • Dignity and respect
  • Equality and diversity
  • Medication
  • Maths and English Level 2

Your assessor will support you and your apprentice in choosing the right unit options. 

 

They should have GCSEs graded 3 or above. 

They should be working in a care home environment but we can help you find the right candidate for the role. 

  • Support and training for the apprentice to complete 20% off-the-job training
