Who is this course for?
The course will mainly be practical based but will include some theory to consolidate your learning in the subject.
It is aimed at learners wishing to have an introduction to the construction and techniques of creating commercially viable traditional and contemporary floral arrangements.
Entry Requirements
There is no formal entry requirement. A keen interest in floristry and a creative mind would be an advantage, but not essential.

The course will cover:
- Design, styles and techniques, traditional and contemporary
- Construction methods
- Care and transportation
- Identification and knowledge of materials
- Costing
How will you learn?
The course is delivered on-site at Broomfield Hall.
What will you need to bring with you?
You will be required to supply your own:
- Flowers, foliage and sundry items
- Writing materials
- Scissors
- Apron
- Secateurs
How will you be assessed?
There are no formal assessments to complete. However, producing a portfolio to document your progression and development in the subject is your choice.

So I just went for it. I loved it. The actual site at Broomfield is great. The way you can go out into the grounds and pick foliage and use the flowers in your work is brilliant. The course taught you pretty much all you need to know to be a florist 鈥� there was a wedding unit, funeral unit, hand tied unit, things like that. We also did health and safety as it relates to the job which was really useful. The college gave me what I needed to do the job I'm doing now.
