This apprenticeship is applicable to professional team leaders, first line managers and supervisors from all sectors – the private, public or third sector – and all sizes of organisation.

The entry requirement for this apprenticeship will be decided by each employer but may typically be five GCSEs at grade C (4/5) or higher.

The apprentice should have a minimum of two direct reports.

Through formal learning and applied practice, depending on the business environment, areas covered include:

  • Interpersonal skills – managing people and developing relationships
  • Organisational performance – delivering results
  • Personal effectiveness – managing oneself

The apprenticeship will be delivered in the workplace.

Nothing additional is needed.

Final assessment and grading will be undertaken by an Independent Assessor. Full-time apprentices will typically spend 12 – 15 months on-programme (before the gateway) working towards the occupational standard, with a minimum of 20% off-the-job training. All apprentices must spend a minimum of 12 months on-programme.

The End Point Assessment (EPA) typically lasts four months, after the EPA gateway.

The EPA consists of two discrete assessment methods:

  • Assessment method 1: Presentation with questions and answers
  • Assessment method 2: Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence

You could consider further study with an Apprenticeship in Operations Management or continue advancing your career within supervisory and management roles.
